Acclaimed poet Zenobia Frost will lead 50 pre-service teachers in a special professional development event held in partnership with the Queensland University of Technology. Zenobia will assist these budding teachers in preparing for their placements, using our Poetry Object Creative Resource as a lens to teach poetry.

Poetry Object 2016 commissioned poet Kathryn Hummel will lead a dynamic and participatory Poetry Object Workshop with Year 10 students from St. John’s Grammar School. Entitled The Poetics of Everyday, the workshop will lead students through a garden path of synonyms, synecdoches and sibilance in an exploration of objects and their power to make creative connections within and outside the classroom.

With celebrated poet Toby Fitch, students at Lycée Condorcet will explore imaginative thinking and creative responses through the lens of Poetry Object. During this workshop, Toby will guide over 60 year 7 students in a series of exercises which use erasure and mistranslation of French literature in developing their individual poems.

Western Sydney University's Young Writers Day

New Shoots Poetic Walking Tour - Story Fest 16
