ART & HERBARIUM: Creative Ecological Investigation

Art & Herbarium shows how modes of scientific knowledge and of creative practice continue to be intertwined in this most challenging of centuries. Twilight Poetry by the Lagoon - Relive the Magic

If you missed December's Twilight Poetry by the Lagoon, this is your opportunity to relive the magic.

In collaboration with City of Wagga Wagga and Booranga Writers Centre, The Disappearing' is a projection featuring a feast of poetry from recent writing workshops held in Wagga Wagga, led by local Wiradjuri poet John Muk Muk Burke and former Wagga resident and Australian Poetry Slam Champion Zohab Zee Khan. The projections will light up from 8PM nightly.

Oxley College

Gabe "Journey" Jones and Lorin Elizabeth are heading to Oxley College for Poetry Week. On Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 March, these prolific poets will be facilitating 2 x full day workshops, working with students from years 7 -10. The pieces inspired by these workshops will form the poetry slam to be held on Friday 24 March.

UN World Poetry Day 2017

In celebrating World Poetry Day, March 21, UNESCO recognizes the unique ability of poetry to capture the creative spirit of the human mind. One of the main objectives of the Day is to support linguistic diversity through poetic expression and to offer endangered languages the opportunity to be heard within their communities

Ambarvale High School

Eunice Andrada returns to Ambarvale High School to further develop the Protest Poetry that was created in their first workshop. This installment will focus on peer editing and translating their poetry from page to stage, with a performance to their fellow students in the works. The workshop coincides with UN World Poetry Day, so Eunice will have something special to celebrate with the students.

Poetic Learning x Eucalyptus Week

To celebrate Eucalyptus Week, we will be running the Eucalyptus Eco Poetry Project (EEPP) with Kangaroo Valley Primary, to be facilitated by Indigenous poet Kirli Saunders. There will be 4 workshops at Bundanon Trust.

National Eucalypt Day 2017

Poetic Conversations x National Eucalypt Day

Yala Gari x Pathways to Dreaming

Pathways To Dreaming is designed to engage Year 8 to 12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in education.
They take part in academic and Aboriginal cultural enrichment workshops at the University and the cohort at each school devises and implements a group project, with mentors facilitating that process.

Poet Lorna Munro will be running Yala Gari workshops with students from Years 9-10 to creatively engage the students in cultural strengthening.

All Saints Anglican School, QLD

As part of the Alternative Learning Program at All Saints Anglican School on the Gold Coast, Scott Sneddon will be inspiring 220 Year 10 students with a poetic performance and a Q&A session where he will be sharing his techniques for performance and poetic language. Students will have the opportunity to take part in thought provoking writing activies as guided by the poet.
