Margaret (Marg) Sheppard's first published poem was in the "Stay in Touch" column of the Sydney Morning Herald 7 September 1999, as winner of Bernard Zuel's readers' contribution to National Poetry Day. Marg came second in the NSW Writers' Centre 2002 Performance Poetry competition. She has had several poems published in The Glebe Society's Bulletin and was an active member of the Glebe Society's Blue Wren Subcommittee until her passing in March 2020.

Marg is remembered by family, friends and poets for being a significant part of the Glebe Society's Blue Wren Group, as well as the larger poet community.
