Pip Smith writes plays and stories, recently completed a manuscript of poems as part of a MLitt at Sydney University. In 2013 she won the inaugural Helen Bell Award for her first collection, Too Close for Comfort, which was released by Sydney University Press. Her poems and stories have also been published in HEAT, Meanjin, Voiceworks, Going Down Swinging, Island and Pan Magazine. Pip runs the monthly short fiction night, Penguin Plays Rough, for which she has just compiled and edited its first book: The Penguin Plays Rough Book of Short Stories
