Mount Carmel brought Papercuts to a regional campus.

The school

Mt Carmel School is a Catholic school located in Yass, NSW.  The school's Years 9-10 classes were visited by poet Emily Ballou for an intensive one-day workshop.  

The project

A diverse range of students took part in Mount Carmel's poetry project, with Year 9 students creating a poetry wall and another group of students speaking with ABC Radio 2CN.  The group produced a newsletter including some of their poems and testimonials.

The poet

Emily Ballou is an Australian poet, novelist and screenwriter, currently residing in the UK. Her verse-portrait of Charles Darwin was published by University of Western Australia Press in 2009.
