The Poetry Object is an initiative of Papercuts, The Red Room Company's national poetry education program

Papercuts delivers flexible and dynamic programs to bring living and breathing Australian poets into centres of learning throughout the nation.

Thank you to all the students, teachers and admin staff who made the first ever Poetry Object project such a huge success. We look forward to seeing the same schools and more writing about their poetic objects in 2012!

A selection of posters featuring poems and photographs were on display in the windows of 47 George Street, the home of The Rocks Pop Up Project,  from 27 October- 7 November 2011.

Another selection of posters featuring poems and photographs from The Poetry Object in 2011 is currently on display in the Bridge Street Sydney offices of Dr. Michele Bruniges, Director-General of Education and Communities.

We would also like to thank the many Sydney Region teachers who attended the professional development sessions supporting The Poetry Object offered by The Red Room Company in partnership with NSW Public Schools (Sydney Region). Our thanks to staff at the Arncliffe and Bondi Offices.

As overall winner Phi Pham won a Papercuts residency with poet Johanna Featherstone. Johanna was also commissioned to compose a poem especially for Phi's school.
