There's a lovely story about Jacarandas down in the south of Sydney, where they are absolutley everywhere- huge, and deliciously old things in backyard gardens, that just line the traintracks with purple in Spring. Apparently there was one midwife at St George Hospital when it opened who would give a jacaranda sapling to the parents of every new baby she helped delivery. I love the idea that each tree is an individual life...

hmmm. no i don't think that the reader can 'do nothing to dispute this. I think the reader makes the world almost as much as the poet does. It is the poet/reader world which involves reationships between writer world image text and text image world reader then perhaps, if its a good un: world.

The word used to explain what the moving images made of the poems are has gone through many versions 'adaptation', 'offerings', 'experimentations' and 'poemlations'. I'm still unsure if 'adaptations' is wise, your suggestion of 'tributes' and 'transpositions' is an excellent and careful one.

The construction of an impossible image as being achievable only by a poem, is this because we believe things as soon as we see them but in words there is room to write something exists and (the reader) can do nothing to dispute this, there is no evidence but the poet's word/world?
