The School

Heathcote Public School is located in southern Sydney, neighbouring The Royal National Park. The school promotes quality welfare practices and enjoys strong partnerships with parents and the wider community.
Their major purpose is to provide exceptional quality teaching and learning opportunities for the students in their care. In doing this we continuously aim to promote a lifelong love of learning and to maximise student outcomes across academic, sporting and cultural arenas.

The Project

Celebrated Australian poet Eileen Chong visited the students of Heathcote Public School to work through The Poetry Object learning resource. The students' poems were submitted to The Poetry Obejct 2013 student writing project, and are now published in an online gallery on The Red Room Company's website.

Eileen composed two poems for The Poetry Object, titled ‘Windmills’ and 'Face-washer',  available the Red Room website (or view above in playlist).
