The Cabinet of Lost and Found, 2010
The Peninsula School is an independent, co-educational Anglican school located in Mount Eliza, on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. Students from Year 8 worked with poet Luke Beesley on a series of Cabinet of Lost and Found workshops in Term 3, 2010.
Students at the Peninsula School worked to create their own 'Cabinet of Lost and Found', with the help of Australian poet Luke Beesley and teacher Natalie Bellis. These works are showcased in an online class blog, which can be viewed here.
Luke Beesley writes poetry and short fiction, and is an artist and musician. His recent poetry collections Jam Sticky Vision (Giramondo, 2015) and New Works on Paper (Giramondo, 2013) blend the painterly with absurdity, cinema, music and autobiography. Beesley’s second book, Balance (Whitmore Press, 2012), was based on an Asialink residency in India. He has won numerous awards and fellowships and his poetry has been published in the Black Inc. Best Australian Poems and UQP Best Australian Poetry anthologies. Luke is a singer-songwriter and he plays with Ian Wadley (Small World Experience, Minimum Chips) as New Archer, and solo as Cornflake Sunset. Luke lives in Melbourne.
