The School

St Paul’s Grammar School is a co-educational, non-denominational Christian Grammar school in Sydney’s Greater West.
A tradition of excellence and inclusive, distinctive school culture imbue the fabric of life at St Paul’s.

The Project

Year 7-11 studens from St Paul’s Grammar School took part in a unique full day workshop with poet Lorin Elizabeth at the St Paul's Grammar School 2017 Creative Writing Camp. The workshops focused specifically on performance poetry, beginning with a performance and inspiring discussion from Lorinto introduce students to the art of performing poetry.
Students then engaged in intensive writing sessions with the opportunity to perform their poetry for their peers.

The Poet

Lorin Elizabeth

Lorin Elizabeth is a spoken word poet, organiser and teaching artist from Wollongong, who co-founded Enough Said Poetry Slam and is published in Going Down Swinging’s audio anthology.

She has toured the USA poetry slam circuit, featured at the Women of the World Poetry Slam in Albuquerque, NM and self-published an EP called Poems.

In 2017, Lorin featured at Canberra’s Noted Festival, hosted The Rumble Youth Slam at Sydney Writers’ Festival and was a workshop facilitator and panelist for The Stella Prize’s Girls Write Up program in Canberra, Sydney and Wodonga.
