Tasmanian Association for the Teaching of English (TATE)

TATE is a State Branch of the Australian Association for the Teaching of English (AATE). It is a professional body that aims to promote and support the teaching and study of English in Tasmania at primary, secondary and senior secondary levels. Our Association is open to teachers in Government, Catholic and independent schools as well as tertiary educators and students. TATE provides strong leadership in the area of English teaching, language learning and literacy development. We promote the interests of all English educators in the State.
Emma Rose Smith is a writer, editor, educator and arts organiser living on Gadigal-Wangal land (Sydney). She produces Poetry Object at Red Room Poetry, directs Unspoken Words Storytelling (artist collective and festival), and co-produces Word in Hand (poetry and performance night).
