Queen Elizabeth I

Yesterday I was young,

a mere child lost

with a sister and a father,

continually moving

from palace to house to dungeon.

Today I am free

with a country of freedom.

I rule for my people, the treasure of my kingdom.

Tomorrow I will be a woman

that looks to the future.

A woman among thousands

but I will always be me

no matter the future.

Queen Elizabeth I
