BETTER OUT THAN IN

I feel gagged sometimes censored of the words I wish to speak
So I close my eyes and in the darkness I’m on a mountain peak

From way up high the words I cry of my true misery
My one safe place is where I know I am sheltered, I am free

It is a nightmare, it is a dream, what is real I cannot know I
do know, when I do wake, is what I reap from what I sow

The thing that’s real is when I open my eyes, the mask I choose to wear
To stand before a sea of faces with judging eyes that stare

Milky haze, meet silky days
The confusion makes me want to shout
So I close my eyes, to the mountain top I go and scream,
