Brotherly Love

R. W.

I remember the day
When my brother-in-law passed away
Woke up with my mother-in-law
Screaming out, “Go check on ya brother!
I think he’s under the house!”

I ran out and opened the door
To see my brother
Up against the brick wall.
I sang out his name
But there was no response.
I walked over and looked
At him
He was gone.

It was a sad day
I tried everything to resuscitate my best mate.
It brings a tear to my eyes
Then I start to cry thinking that
I’ll never see you again.
The only way I can communicate with you
Is when I pray so I end this rap
With I love you forever my best friend
Rest in peace
Until we see each other again
AMEN
