Swirl of Laughter

by Fiona

she was dressed in a swirl of uncontrollable laughter

caught in a web of pathological lies

cancerous

amusing

toxic

needy

so very very bad with money

not just her own

like sand through her fingers

while she searched for herself

never finding

always running

burning bridges

clinging to the smouldering shadows

flights of fancy

whimsical, unrealized

never fully believed

cancerous

magnetic

as she goes up in smoke
