Maisie Cohen is a filmmaker, radio producer and occasional writer from Sydney. Her five years working at ABC Radio Current Affairs have piqued an interest in journalism and documentary-making, and during her time there she’s produced a few shorter stories for broadcast, as well as a long form radio documentary for the Sounds of Summer Series on Radio National and ABC local radio. In early 2015 she made a radio documentary on performance poetry for fbi’s All The Best program.
During her time studying film at UTS, she experimented with different forms of animation, as well as live action drama, writing and directing an original short film for her Honours in Media Arts and Production.
Recently Maisie has developed a keen interest in how art and social justice causes intersect, and how artists are using their work to enact real and tangible change across a range of social issues, from sexuality to the environment.
