Albany based poet Maree Dawes has been published in Lines in the Sand, Best Australian Stories, ABC Regional Radio, Indigo, Hotspot exhibition catalogue, Blue Like Tea (Five Islands Press), Main Street Rag, Empowa, The Dawn,  Inprint , Speculum Woman’s Art Journal, Rottnest Islander, WA State Literature Officer’s website, Western Word, ABC Radio Albany, Soul Candy, Albany Advertiser, and Western Farmer. Her writing residency culminated in the projection of poems onto Albany Town Hall as part of Perth International Arts Festival (PIAF) Paperartzi dance performance (Feb 2011). She was a guest at PIAF Writers festival (Jan 2010). 

Maree has also been a guest at at Singapore Writers Festival (Oct/Nov 2009) and her work 'Women of the Minotaur' was dramatized for full length Poetica (Radio National) (2009, repeated March 2011). She was also the Albany finalist for WA State Poetry Slam 2007 and was Emerging Writer In Residence Peter Cowan Writers Centre (Oct 2001).
