Gloria Demillo is a multidisciplinary artist who focuses on poetry, spoken word, and performance. Her creative work is often influenced by her personal experience and her background in research. As an active member of the poetry community, she has had an extensive history of event management and organisation. Gloria has worked with Word Travels, Bankstown Poetry Slam, and founded UNSW Poetry Slam.
Her most notable artistic contributions include the Harana Poetry Tour for the Art Gallery of New South Wales; published works in UNSWeetened 2014; Bankstown Poetry Slam’s anthologies ‘On Second Thought’ and ‘The Resurrection’; and performances at Sydney International Women’s Poetry and Arts Festival, Wollongong Writers Festival, Glebe Street Fair, and the Bankstown Poetry Slam Olympics.
She loves Emperor penguins, obscure social theory, and angry feminist prose.
