Toilet Doors Poetry 2004
The Red Room Company's Toilet Doors Poetry posters transformed the everyday toilet experience with original Australian poetry. Six NSW poets were commissioned to write an original poem for illustration and exhibition on the back of toilet doors across NSW and interstate. Each poem was illustrated with miniature images inspired by the poem text, with the final poster design being an unusual interpretation of the traditional sheet of loo paper.

Bringing the poetic ideas of new Australian poets into the public space, Toilet Doors reached a captive audience in a humorous and imaginative way. Toilet Doors featured in Western Front: Contemporary Art from Western Sydney 2004, which brought together the works of over forty artists and the public of Western Sydney in the form of artist happenings, short-term exhibitions, public interventions, performances and other forms of contemporary art.
