Sliding gracefully
Shattering as it hurls into the marble bench top
Numb
Chasing the frozen cubes of water
The arctic chill penetrating his pale pink paws
Excitement and enthusiasm
Frantic blurs of white fur
Bringing a storm of chaos into the tranquil home
Leaving trails of water scattered everywhere
We watch on
Confused yet intrigued
This act of excitement
Bringing joy to our hearts
On our saddest days
Laughter and smiles escape,
The golden sunset, shines upon thy ice cube,
Melting it away,
Dissolving into a liquid,
Everyone saunters away,
The excitement recedes
